Seems fair to say a Laine trade requires either a blue chip asset or to solve Wpg's D core problems in one fell swoop, though Sanheim is definitely underrated

Take far more then a 4th round pick to get rid of JVR, Considering he has 3 x 7 left on his deal.

After this season to resign everyone you would probably have to give a pick to Seattle To take Voracek. Or do a classic Brooks Orpik trade to Colorado to get bought out and resigned with G To Seattle.

I'm not so sure. The guys we've seen moved like that (namely Staal) are literal cap dumps. JVR was on pace for 50 points last season in a bad year. I also have LA retaining salary on him. So a 50 point, goal scoring, power forward type for a $5m cap hit doesn't seem like an awful trade to me. Maybe taking the 3rd round pick was overkill. But again, JVR isn't a washed up bum. We just have a ton of left sided wingers and he doesn't fit into AV's system so well.
