Literally need to have someone else manage contract negotiations. Doug should never be allowed to sign another contract again.

Think Wilson's hands were tied. They probably agreed to a huge payday after Labanc took that 1x1 discount deal...only way this makes sense.

Meh, around $4m makes sense for him. He took a huge discount last year and got a overpaid some here.

Honestly. It's just embarrassing to have that many garbage contracts on one team. Seriously. I mean who's contract which isn't an ELC is genuinely good value? Meier? Hertl? That's literally it. Every single other one has garbage term, ****ty AAV and massive NTCs or NMCs. This guy can't handle contracts to save his ****ing life. I'd rather let my dog handle negotiations. SMH.

It's 4 years, I think it's a good AAV for that term. It's clear this will be a transition year for the Sharks to compete next year. Unless they really think the kids are going to bring it.

Probably. His hands were tied for sure, but Labanc had a mediocre season and regressed a bit. And that's with improved ice time and time with better lines. 4.75 is just a massive overpay even with your hands tied.

4M at the very, very max though. This team can't afford a 4.75 million dollar contract for a 33 point player with a -33.

no, not even, he was expected to get at most 1.5M. The only other good contract that he signed would be Noesen, who he signed yesterday for 1 year...

Yeah at least that isn't a complete overpay, but I wouldn't necessarily call it good value if you know what I mean.

look at it this way: If Vlasic plays every game through the rest of his contract, he will have played 1527 games (19th all time, 6th with one team)

Pretty bad. Maybe equally bad in value. But 2.2 isn't as detrimental as 4.725. Plus the Sabres still have 27 million to work with versus like 3 for the Sharks

Wow @yikes I thought hed get a 3 years 3.5 or at least get more term than that if he was gonna get that AAV. It still doesn’t make sense because Craig Smith would’ve been a great fit in SJ at the contract he got. And you guys are still missing top 6 RW

Sabres have 0 cap after they sign their UFAs. I usually had Kahun penciled in at 2.8 or 3.5, so basically the entire Kahun contract was given to Girgensons. I project them to have about 2 million to upgrade, depending on Reinharts contract
