Don't get why Ottawa did this. They could have gotten Martin or someone like that in free agency. Now they get three years of Watson

Fair deal. Nashville sheds some cap and gets a decent pick, ottawa gets a player that will improve their roster and only loses a mid-round pick

Great job by Poile! He got a 4th rounder out of nothing after he extended him earlier this year. He had negative impact on his teammates, so I'm happy he's gone. However, good luck in Ottawa!

Such nasty comments on here about Austin's character. A simple Google search reveals that there's more to the story and that his girlfriend at the time publicly said he didn't abuse her. I have no stake in this player.. completely neutral. Just not fun seeing personal bashing of someone who no one really knows personally.

Well there's certainly that realization that more harm was done than intended. And unfortunately for public figures a simple mistake can haunt them forever. Seems like it has in Austin's case to a certain extent.

But I suppose to expect the world to just forget is also unrealistic. Truly unfortunate for him and his family.

Great trade by Nashville to open up space and to land a really good level draft pick for a 4th line player actually. I'm surprised they got such a good pick back from Ottawa. Clearing Cap for maybe Taylor Hall?
