Mid tier FAs falling to NJ

Created by: Opie
Team: 2020-21 New Jersey Devils
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 10, 2020
Published: Oct. 10, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Im guessing mid tier will have tough time getting term & premium dollars this year.
Doesn't seem an outlandish scenario, given slow start to FA & would certainly make them NJ more competitive while they wait for kids ... more Seattle draft fodder & deadline trade candidates, as well. All these guys have questions about them ... but for a team like NJ, they could really help at acceptable risk.

Jake Debrusk would be a nice add to this team

You are absolutely correct. Many guys will be bought at a low, as the chairs are disappearing.

Jersey and teams like them with cap can pounce, very soon.

The fact that Hall and Petro are holding up a lot of the market, with teams getting impatient, is a boon to teams with a surplus of cap space

100% He certainly fits Fitzgerald's profile. Not sure the Bs should give up on him though, regardless of cap. If they do however, Jersey would be fools not to inquire. Maybe a Palmieri going to the Bs and other assets on both sides to make it work?

I'd rather see what Reilly Walsh can do than sign Cici.

Walsh will start in AHL for sure and will be in the future plans. No way he is ready any earlier than mid season, if at all in 20/21. Just wasn't the same player after Fox left Harvard and he had to be the main man. More seasoning. On the other hand, Ceci has always been overvalued/paid as a former 1, but would be a tremendous 3rd pair guy. 2 years is nothing & he holds trade and expansion draft value, if you want to lose him after 1 on that contract. Bahl, Walsh and the many other D prospects NJ has hopefully ready by then.
