agree

Simmonds played 3rd line last year and was terrible. He's simply not an NHL player, I'm sorry.

I understand you are trolling, but you have to come up with a better argument than that if you want to troll. If you did any ounce of research you would realize Anderson was playing with a major shoulder injury and couldn't play how he was suppose too. I heard it from you about how Domi was trash and how he could only score empty net goals, how did that work out for you?

New Jersey won this deal for a great player on a great contract. For an AHL level player.

Straight cap dump for the Leafs.

Barzal, Eberle, Bailey, Pulock, Varlamov, Pelech (ESPECIALLY Pelech), Lee, Pageau and Nelson are all pieces in the Islanders. You see, our team has depth scoring and parity, where your team has four superstars and that's it.

Barzal, Eberle, Bailey, Lee, Pageau, Nelson, Pulock, Pelech.
Matthews, Tavares, Marner, Nylander, Hyman, Mikheyev, Rielly, Brodie, Muzzin.

Toronto has better stars and better depth ... by a mile lol.

So is Joey Anderson ... who had better even strength points per 60 and goals per 60 than Johnsson last year ...

This trade makes the Subban trade look pretty good, except for the fact that Subban makes 3x as much money. AJ has been worse than terrible.

To be fair Anderson hasn't been great either, but ya, right now this trade is a win for the leafs due to cap hits.

I expected Anderson to play for the Leafs and be a solid 4th liner. He's been a disappointment, Devils have done a poor job in the trade/UFA market over the last 2 seasons - AJ, Gusev, Simmonds, Subban, and Murray have all disappointed. To be fair, Kulikov and Kuokkanen have been pretty good.

Oh yes, Ignoring the fact that Montreal apparently offered him more than Toronto gave him... And the fact that he was always an nhl player when Toronto signed him.

His underlying numbers were awful. No denying he's been decent this year, but his numbers were not good when he was signed.

Honestly a blessing we didn't sign him. Theres a chance we wouldn't of signed Toffoli if Simmonds signed, and I like Perry more

Oh I agree. It worked out good for both teams (although I like Simmonds more than Perry, but ya, not getting Toffoli would have been a disaster).

Was wondering if anyone else shared my thoughts on this... Johnsson's first year with the leafs he was OK. But man did I hate that contract he was signed to. So glad we got rid of him. Flash in the pan.

Johnsson was definitely overpaid and I wasn't surprised to see that Toronto got nothing back for him.

It's really unfortunate he fell off a cliff after his 40 point season. I wonder how much of that is attributed to his now frequent injuries?

He's been worthless as a Devil. Team has been way better since he's been out of the lineup the last couple weeks. Much rather give his spot to Boqvist or another one of the kids with potential.

Yes a middle 6 winger for 3.4 Million is terrible.

Given how Johnsson is playing, yes, 3.4 for him is bad.

Dear God, has Johnsson fallen off a cliff. I don't even think he'll be SEA's pick; with that contract, I think they'll take Bastian instead. I liked this for NJD when it happened; I thought they would be able to buy low on a nice middle-six winger. He could still rebound if he's not bought out, but this is looking pretty grim for NJD.

Shedding this contract gives TOR the win by default, for now. I've always liked Joey Anderson and still have faith that he can be a legit 3RW one day.

In the end Toronto won as getting rid of that 3.4mill deal without paying anything extra and getting a B prospect in return who is on a good contract

Good deal for us

Um we got a B prospect with potential who is on a good deal. If anything thats a steal as if Dubas tried to trade him now he would have to pay for someone to take him lul.
