I love you're criticism of every Leafs move lmfao

They don't make very good moves. The Brodie was good, but the Leafs overpaid. Not my fault if your GM can't do anything good.

if this was montreal and bergevin traded johnson for this it'd be a master stroke

No it wouldn't. If we traded Lehkonen or Armia for **** all fans would be pissed. Johnsson is arguably better than both.

Good job Dubass. Dumping depth to sign more depth

You neglected mentioning the cap hits.

Pathetic.

Yup. Firing Shero was the best move the organization has made, lol. TF is younger, smarter, and more creative.

I love the guy. Wish Buffalo got him frown

Yes a middle 6 winger for 3.4 Million is terrible.

At least it's not $5,500,000 x 7 years like Anderson though right?

I hope this means TO gets Pietrangelo so we can all watch them lose in the 1st round even with a stacked D.

He played a bunch of games in 18-19 for the NJD. He was captain for US junior team at the WJC. He's NHL ready next season. Equivalent to a 2nd+3rd rounder, imo.

Thanks man, makes me feel a little better about losing Johnsson.

It was sarcasm. It's a decent contract, but your idiotic GM doesn't know how to manage the salary cap and is throwing good assets out the window.

Toronto's out on Pietrangelo. His price is too high and their offer is too low.

Toronto can barely afford to pay their pending RFA's with the cap space they have. They aren't getting Pietrangelo

Considering what a cap dump these days has been costing teams, this was to be expected. A win for NJ for sure, but not a bad trade for the Leafs. From what little I've read on the guy we got he's a decent prospect, likely an NHL depth player. I'm cool with this.

For NJ fans, Mango is a huge bounceback candidate. You'll love him.

It also ends speculation of him bringing in a lot, but I’m wondering if Toronto trades anyone else. Maybe trades away another middle 6 forward brings up bracco or some other prospect. Or even a depth defenseman you have brings up Sandin/Liljegren.

Mhm, doesn’t mean they can’t re-sign him.

I don't think he wants to come back with the way the Leafs have treated him

New Jersey does well here, getting a decent middle six forward making less money than his cap hit for a young depth forward. The Leafs needed to clear some cap space, and after Johnson clearer waivers and some of the trades the jackets made, it's hard to be surprised, but it doesn't change the fact that New Jersey gets more value from this transaction.

Him not getting called up is his own doing.

That's your opinion. Doesn't change the fact that he won't be back.

Leafs got Matthews, Tavares, Nylander, Marner, Hyman, Rielly, Brodie, Muzzin, Andersen. I didn't know 9>9

Hyman's only goals are empty-netters, Brodie is a new signing and is yet to be seen in a Leafs jersey, and Andersen is consistent but the defense in front of him lets him down every single game. We don't have that problem.

Are you nuts? He's a 4th liner and best and will likely get close to league minimum on his next contract.

He had more points and goals than Josh Anderson last year + he's 5 years younger.

And we didn't have to pay him $5,500,000 x 7 years.

I think that's a win.

Pietrangelo incoming?

I saw it coming, I liked Johnsson, he has a potential to be a staple 2nd liner, he wasn't gonna get that in the T Dot, I like what we got in return, gives guys like Robertsson a chance with this trade.
