He’s not, but the value of opening up the cap space and acquiring a bottom 6 guy who can do all the dirty work is more valuable to the Leafs than Johansson is

he's a young kid, currently an RFA but he'll be at ELC-type money

Johnsson had negative trade value, was overpaid for his role, he had injury problems and was obsolete for us. I would've liked to keep him, but at 3.4M, too much
Anderson has the promise of a young depth guy who could be decent. The real win is not surrendering draft picks or any other assets to get rid of him, while also getting an able bodied guy in return

Andreas plays 86% of his minutes with Matthews and was LITERALLY the 4th most assisted player in the ENTIRE NHL. Do the devils have a Matthews or Nylander? Didn't think so. HUGE W for the Leafs. I'd argue this was as good if not better than the KK trade. Dubas is crushing people.

He's a leaf now, so wait 5 minutes and you'll be handed info on his school yard friends, what allergies he has and all his top 6 potential followed by massive trade proposals of Anderson for Manson

Honestly I like the move kid has potential and is 22. Plus we just freed up space. Nj also gets a guy who can be on their pp/pk and potentially rebound to 20 goals

Not much. He is a power forward that struggled to get stronger. Was tossed around in his rookie year and was invisible in his second. Had a real good AHL season but don't know if he ever cracks your line up.

Hmm, that kind of sucks. Wish they could have gotten a better trade for him.

Just watch. He sucks. Joey (or any other TOR ELC) will likely fill in and you'll be signing a different toon next year.

I wouldn’t say negative. If the cap had gone up to 86-88.5 like it was supposed to they could have maybe gotten a 3rd and a C prospect for him.
