"Not that much"? Look at the forward core of Drai, McD, Duclair, Ennis, Turris, Pulju. Your top 4 on D is gonna bleed goals and the goalie tandem was bottom 10 in the league last year.

Bud. It's the 80s all over again..no one cares about defense. Or goaltending . Besides this year Norris trophy winners were just the highest scoring defenseman. Outscore all of our problems! Woohoo

It all comes down to Tip playing Koskinen like the real starter. Of goalies to play 30 or more games last season, Koskinen had the 13th best sv%. So he is a legit middle of the pack starter. Smith would play just as well as Koski for 3 games, then ?!@# the bed for another. In my eyes the Smith signing only truly sucks if he plays more than 30 games in an 82 game season pace. Koski shouldn't play more than 60, but in a 55 or so games played season I think he can replicate his stats and we're fine.

And yeah, they'll score even more. This fwd group has added at least Ennis (on a full season), Turris and Pulju, and only subtracted Sheahan and a wildcard AA. Not to mention point per game pace Yam on a full season instead of just 27 games. Even without Duclair or a similar add in place of Chiasson to even out the winger situation, the offence is even better than last season.

Yeah I think they'll score more. But thise are some awful defensive forwards and with Nurse, Barrie, and Bear headlining your D you've got to find above average defense somewhere else in the lineup. Especially with that goalie tandem

Hoping for an add like Kulikov still, or a decent defensive fwd like Kahun or Janmark. Any of em could be had for around 2 mil (which, like it or not, we have saved with the 1.5 mil to Smith instead of 3.6 to Greiss for example...would still rather have the better 1B goalie though lol).

Yea not that much. I think they will have a solid for check, probably out shoot and out score most nights. Even if the the goaltending was in the bottom tier of the league the Oilers still finished second in the Pacific. ****ty qualifiers though. But this team is without a doubt much deeper offensively then they were at the beginning of the offseason. Yes Kelfbom is down. But we got Barrie who is IMO and elite Offensive D man who way better the Klefbom ever will be. On the D side of things yes. But if Larsson has a solid bounce back season after injury and Bear only improves. Jones is solid and hadn't even broke out yet. I'm really not worried. This team will score a lot and they will make the Playoffs.

Fair comment on the fwds. Personally I think Kahun would be a smarter, cheaper add than Duclair. Better 2 way forward who can be had for likely 2 mil.

As for the D, one more defensive guy would be nice. But I think you are selling some of the Oil defensemen short. Bear and Larsson are quite effective in their own zone. Nurse will need a good, confident year or else we are in trouble, I will give you that.
