Cirelli Offer Sheet

Created by: Shakabakes
Team: 2020-21 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 11, 2020
Published: Oct. 11, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
In all seriousness, why hasn't this happened yet? Is it because of unwritten code between GM's that they haven't extended an Offer Sheet?

Tampa can't move Johnson or Coburn. Nobody wants them. Cirelli is ripe for the taking. He is a clear upgrade over Strome who can be had for minimum assets. Take advantage of the flat Cap and make the move.

Don't let Jack Johnson be the only thing we walk away with during Free Agency.

Would no be surprised if there was a gentlemen's agreement not to under the circumstances. So many are primed for it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I agree. But you're specifically in charge of making your own team better. If you can improve your team dramatically, without having to pay a premium, then agreements be damned. Strike while the iron is hot.

Because you're forgetting that there's 2 sides to an offer sheet. Why would Cirelli wanna leave a top continent every year that where he lives in the sunshine all year round and tax free state for New York?

Cirelli and his agent are probably the reason it hasnt happened yet then. Like if you offer him 5x5 hes not even gonna open it. I expect it would have to take 7+ for him to look

I agree. Boston should be all over TB Sergachev/Cirelli or St L and Dunn.

5x6.25M (2021 1st and 3rd) would be fine for me.

I think if put in a corner, Tampa would match on Sergachev over Cirelli.

Rangers are an emerging Dynasty. Tampa finally won a Championship after about a decade as a contender. Now they're back in Cap Hell, as more of their Stars age. Better chance of getting a Championship with the Rangers than a 2nd in Tampa.

A 40 Point 2C coming off his ELC? That's more than fair. He's good, but not elite.

Thats not enough incentive to leave Tampa if they are offer a 4.5 x 3 deal with a 6M + QO

I get that the State Tax differences balance out a bit, but over $31M with a rising club is nothing to balk at.

Sure but he can get more job security by taking a bridge into a long term deal. And gets to spend most of his time in Tampa Bay

Yeah no. They move 1 or 2 contracts and they're fine. Plus you seemed to have read right past the tax free and sign shine year round stuff. Lifestyle is a major part of it too. He's not leaving Tampa for New York

You make that sound easier than it is. They can't even give Johnson away for free, right now.

Lifestyle in a huge Original Six market isn't that bad, either.
