Somehow I doubt Reinhart, Olofsson, and Ullmark will get those contracts out of arbitration. Also how is it possible that our bottom 6 is worse than last year?

Very possible yes. I dont mind the Rieder signing for the league minimum but the pickup of Eakin and the contract for Girgensons is inexcusable. When they did not want to pay Kahun over 2 mil they pay these 2 bums more than that when Kahun would have fit in the top 6 in my opinion. Same with the Thompson contract, they are hoping he fills out to what they think he will be when he has not proved anything to get that contract, lets hope he puts up 40-45 points and that contract is steal. Dont even get me started on Larsson signing for 1.4 mil, buffalo easily could have payed him that and i would have been ok with paying him 2-2.25 mil. This team is going to be worse than last year if we do not get a top 6 winger immediately.

Larson underrated yet they sign Eakin?!?
You are correct. Awful asset management

How did Buffalo screw up so bad? The Staal deal was a good piece of business.
It’s been downhill since the ridiculous Jack Quinn pick.
Forget Rossi. Cole Perfetti will be an absolute monster. Cole’s 2nd half in OHL was insane!
Winnipegers are laughing their asses off!!

The staal trade will definitely help for this year (hopefully). I am upset we did not pick Perfetti or Rossi yes but, we cannot evaluate a draft pick till they actually play. We see so many times high picks or hyped prospects who never do anything in the NHL so that is why i am not judging the draft picks until they actually play in the NHL. If Quinn can be a nice first or second line winger and consistently put up 60-70 points a year i will be very happy

Did they try to trade down?

That’s what boggles my mind. They should have gotten something. It’s not totally in their control but that’s what a good negotiator would achieve!
There were a lot of Wild and Jets fans offering top 6 help to move up in the draft. Plenty of ACGMs
