When do you think Kane and Toews will be traded? Maybe next year makes more sense than this year

I'm not personally a hawks fan, but I did see the Lazerus article that came out about their displeasure... I don't think they get moved until the leagues finances are more definite for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if they're not moved until the TDL of their last contract season. Just so hard to fit a 10.5 million cap hit under the books in the current state of the league.

Core 4 will probably stay. If anything, Seabs would get bought out and maybe Keith waives his NMC in a year or two. Toews already said he would not waive his NMC

Yeah but I'm not sure how many will be destinations they'd waive NMC for since they'd need to be a contender. The list of teams who are all of: competitive, have cap space, have the assets to give up for a star player is very very short.

Hawks will never trade toews and Kane. They would lose half of their fan base if they did. No matter what you get back for them it wouldn't be enough in most fans eyes. They will retire as hawks.

Deserve better how? They won 3 cups. They're treated like gods in Chicago. They're 2 of the highest paid players in the game. They're still both getting top ice time and PP time. And they never said they wanted out so I'm not exactly sure what more they could deserve

Because Stan Bowman made terrible signings, had to make bad trades to get out of their signings, and then messed up even more after all that

How good were they really? They would've missed the playoffs if last season was a normal season and they had one of if not the best goalie tandem in the league. I'm my opinion the biggest mistake bowman made was trading lehner for nothing. They should've resigned Lehner then let crow walk. Then they would just need to shore up the LD. Trade maatta for cap space and trade strome+ for a LD upgrade.

But it all ended when bowman traded Lehner. Now they're stuck with a good forward group, a bad but mostly young defense with potential, and no goaltending in sight
