Description
So the Blue Jackets made a bunch of cap space by trading out Murray & Nutivarra and buying out Wennberg. They struck out on Hall & Pietrangelo, so so they look a different way now? And yes, I know this is completely unrealistic.

I feel like Hall would rather get his payday with the Jackets than the Isles (Isles can't pay) and Lou would rather match that offer to keep Barzy and find buyers for Pulock/Toews' rights or pay an arm and/or a leg to offload Boychuk. You now have Atkinson and Domi, you'd need a star winger like Hall way more than Barzy. Not to mention you'd definitely get Hall for a lower cap hit than Barzy.

Somebody correct me if I am wrong but the CBJ needs their own 2021 second round pick to offer sheet Barzal , according to Capfriendly ,the draft picks must be available in the nearest entry draft

I think they were planning on going after the big names, but it didn’t work out. Also I think he said he did it in part to fend off an offer sheet on PLD.

Then imo they should take a bad contract w the cap space if they can (after they sign Dubois) and get back hella assets. Cap dumps r gonna b expensive

I would too, but Jarmo says they want Domi to play C, so I was just keeping him there.

To get Barzal on an OS you are going to have to go to the 4 1st rd range to make it even a consideration for the Isles not to match.
