He'll be over 1 ppg as Eichel's wingman. But whatever happened to wanting to play playoff hockey? At least nowBuffalo will have an improved shot at getting the 1st overall pick

TO THE BOTTOM OF THE STANDINGS!!! WOOOOOOOOOO!

It will be VERY hard to be at the bottom of the standings with a team that has Eichel, Hall, Staal, Reinhart, Olofsson, and Dahlin

Wow did anyone expect him to go to buffalo. Great deal though because now you get his rights and since it’s a 1 year deal doesn’t matter that much how expensive it is. Also maybe this is why Kahun wasn’t qualified

Makes sense in that he could pad his stats playing with Eichel to get a juicier long-term contract.

But on the other hand, if he breaks his leg in April then he could find himself not able to play anywhere in the following season.

I know there are a lot of people who don't like this deal (From Taylor's POV) but I wish deals like this happened more often. It would add a lot more drama and anticipation to free agency. Also love the random surprise team.

So much for wanting to play on a contender.

How does Skinner get more than Hall?

He gets all the ice time and powerplay in sabres with Eichel and boost his stats (for more money long term), then gets flip to a contender for picks/prospect for buffalo, win win. Brilliant move for both of them.

I think this is a fine contract but clearly he would rather take the money then contend and potentially win the cup.

Smart move on Hall's part. Play with Eichel, have another insane offensive season, probably get traded to a contender at the TDL, and make a ton of money next summer.

imma say this isn't a good signing, because the Sabres have a logjam on LW and are super bare on RW. The logical move if they wanted a big name would be Hoffman/Dadonov/Tofolli imo

Log jam? We have skinner and hall now and we didn't qualify kahun , olof and reinhart are right wings

Skinner and Olofsson play both wings so its definitely not a problem

I hope this works out well for Buffalo because I can see it massively backfiring if not. If this doesn't at least get them into a 'bubble' spot, if not the playoffs, who is going to want to stay there (inc Eichel)? "we won the big fish in free agency and still completely sucked" wouldn't inspire a lot of confidence in the org.

He will probably hold on is NMC/NTC not to get hurt in the playoffs unless the team is willing to extend his contract

I was shocked when I saw this but after thinking about it I really like it for two main reasons. It puts both Taylor Hall and Jack Eichel into perfect situations to prove that they are top players in this league. If they are we will see it because they will be given free reign to do their thing and if not then quit complaining. No risk for Buffalo at all and they give Eichel what he wants and if they click it will be a new scoring duo and then Buffalo will overpay for him like they typically do unless Kevyn Adams holds strong and makes Taylor see the value of the situation. No excuses here now players, go out and produce or shut your mouths.

Just think where'd the Sabres could be if they spent Skinner's contract on goaltending and depth.

I fully understand why he’d do it for the stats and stuff, but how can you say all you want to do is win and sign with the team with the longest playoff drought? Shocking stuff to me.

He gets to choose his team again at the trade deadline ...

If the reports are true, Av's offered him 6.5 1 yr. I am glad he passed Sakic did much better with that money already

Shocked he choose Buffalo.

I understand why he did with the potential there and playing with Eichel to rack up the points and cash in next off season.

I think the Sabres are at least a wild card team now in the Eastern Conference.
