Winning a cup is clearly not a priority for him.

He gets to play alongside Eichel for half a season, and if they don’t make playoffs, he gets traded to a contender at the deadline. Then after he’s scored 90+ points next season, gets to negotiate a long term deal with whichever team he wants.

Yea cause that’s clearly working out for him. 2 goals on the year. Lemme fix your comment.

“He gets to play alongside Eichel for essentially a QUARTER of a season, and WHEN they don’t make playoffs, he gets traded to anyone that is willing to take him at the deadline for like an average draft pick. Then after he’s scored “30-35” points next season, gets to negotiate another 1 yr deal with a couple team that are willing to take a gamble on him.”

Like I said, stupid move by Hall.

Easy to say in hindsight, but yeah, definitely hasn't worked out in his favor. I would be very surprised if anyone would sign him long-term in the off-season after this disaster.

Hopefully for his sake he gets dealt to a contender and puts up solid numbers for them to help boost his value in FA.
