What are they gonna do

Created by: BSpadaro83

Initial Creation Date: Oct. 11, 2020
Published: Oct. 11, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Lets say the TBL work their RFA magic and get Cirelli, Serg and Cernak signed to their standard, undervalued BS bridges.

How do they clear the space to be compliant? This is a crazy logjam and teams are quickly filling their space. Seems like if you dont move now you are gonna be in trouble soon.

Like they have to move at least two of Johnson, Palat, Gourde, Killorn, Stamkos and replace 3 roster spots after. And these RFA deals are wildly low balls.

Cirelli and Cernak take 1 x 1 Deangelo and Labanc type deals. Sergachev gets traded for a 1st rounder and A prospect that’s close to NHL ready

I think you deal cirelli, can probably add a Johnson with him and still get something worthwhile back. You still have stammer, nothing like that behind sergachev

Honestly if Cirelli takes a freaking 925000 1 yr and doesnt sign an offer sheet, i want a full investigation of the entire Tampa Bay FO and what blackmail/extortion they have in place. At least with Tony D every one knew he was a hothead clown with baggage and wasnt sure if the year was a fluke or not. All 3 of these dudes just proved it on a cup run. GM's should be tabling sheets as fast as they can fax.

If Brisebois put Gourde on waivers like he did Johnson would any team claim him?

I think Brisebois' mistake was trying to move the guys he wanted to move first like Johnson and Gourde instead of the guys teams would want like Killorn and Palat and now as teams are using up what cap space they have its going to be even tougher to move these guys.

Gonna be interesting to see how this plays out.

I think JBB played it right .. he knew TJ was a disaster and tried to move quick knowing it was a buyers market .. it just moved to quick down .. forward market developed slowly due to Hall so we should see action soon ...if not I would waive Gourde also if cant trade him.. will be WORSE next year.... what got to lose? ... nothing ..

No teams want to help Tampa. They wont claim him. TJ doesnt get moved without a 1st rd pick attached.

Also, idc how much loyalty these guys have, if someone offers Cirelli or Sergechev a super frontloaded 6.4milx5yr offersheet (or higher), I can't see them not signing. Especially Cirelli (tampa will struggle to offer him max value in 2 yrs when Point's contract is also up). Its about the time-value of money. A ton of money now is worth wayyyy more than "a little bit now and maybe some more later as long as you dont get hurt or regress or something else unpredictable happens."

Not a lot of teams left with cap space to make an offersheet happen though, I just don't see any offersheets happening, the Devils seem like about the only team that could make an offersheet happen right now.
