Probably not. I like Dunn. We need to get younger, and Pietrangelo just isn't that.

I agree. I wouldn't trade him if I was STL. I just saw the cap issues and got my hopes up again lol.

Yeah, no I doubt he gets dealt any time soon. I'd be very very interested in seeing a deal done later, but you would need to offer a first and one of your top prospects.

Yep. Fully understandable. We'll see what happens. (Please don't send him to New Jersey)

Not in Blues idea. Bozak is still very serviceable as a 3C. He's not any type of dump or negative value. If you want Dunn in any deal it includes a first probably Top 5 protected, and Kravtsov.

Look in a normal season I agree but bc of COVID everything’s different so unless us eat cap a lot of destinations wouldn’t work

it's not really all that different tho. Yes it's a flat cap. But at the same time. We can buy him out just as easily because Steen Steen is on LTIR.

    I'm only curious
Is Nils Lundkvist + Lauri Pajuniemi any interest?

Is there a reason why he wouldn't do that in 2021?

He's confirmed he's signing after Lulea's season is over. Lundkvist is off the table in terms of this trade tho.

Lulea of SHL. Has 1 year remaining on extension. Confirmed he was signing ELC subsequent to the conclusion of the 2020-2021 SHL season.

Dunn is not a cap compliancy dump. Bozak would be, PLUS we are already under the cap right now. If we traded away Sanford, and Bozak we would be just fine. We have no need for this type of deal, AND Vince Dunn is already a Top 4 Defenseman with better stats than a lot of the top Defenseman.

I hate it when facts completely annihilate an angument. wink

    UrqOrAAAAAElFTkSuQmCC.png?width=1130&height=931

This is why Blues wouldn't do this deal. Specifically. Because a bunch of spare parts doesn't justify getting rid of this type of performance, and it's not just this season.

    FfMGizmjwnSDQAAAAASUVORK5CYII.png?width=1130&height=931

This is the past 4 years, so yet again. It would cost a First and Kravtsov to even remotely be close for him on the table. It's not worth it to us. It would not be worth it at all for us. Yes I understand Perunovich is coming up, but we should be looking into getting rid of Gunnarsson, and Scandella. That brings Perunovich up, but at the same time Perunovich is a year out. So making this deal on a win now team makes us down grade. It doesn't make sense for the Blues at all if we aren't getting substantial value back for him.

Scandella is probably out. Mikkola is good, but I'm not sure he's doing enough to make it onto the roster.

While I don't disagree with you, Army has a history (and in my opinion), a bad habit of forcing guys he's signed to longer term contracts into a lineup even when that player obviously should not be. Army signed Scandy to a 4 year extension. I'd bet the house Army will keep him around for at least three years. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm just going off of history. This is another reason I see Faulk in the picture for a while.

First off, appreciate the insightful response. Secondly, I don't envision Vitali Kravtsov being moved at all. I think if Lauri Pajuniemi is of interest for STL I would definitely be handcuffed to do a deal like that with taking Bozak's contract and adding a 1st-round pick. As a huge fan of Pajuniemi, I think it's a fair offer for sure. I've watched him since 2018 and think he has serious potential. 26 goals in Liiga isn't nothing to scoff at. I can't put into words how much I would love Vince Dunn in a NYR uniform, but in our rebuilding process, we simply can't trade top guys especially when these prospects we can part with are still very good, trading a 1st +, and taking $5M off the books to bring back Pietrangelo.

So, would this trade work? If not, how would you adjust to your liking?
    St. Louis Blues
    - RW Lauri Pajuniemi
    - C Evan Vierling
    - 2021-1st round pick (Top 10 Protected)
    New York Rangers
    - LHD Vince Dunn (RFA Rights)
    - C Tyler Bozak

That looks like the beginning of a negotiation. There would probably be tweaks, but it's at least in the neighborhood (unlike the Toronto fans wanting do send three pieces of used toilet paper to the Blues for Parayko).

I agree, but if we get Bozak off the books and Steen stays on LTIR or retires like I've been hearing, we would have the cap to make it work.
I expected to hear he signed with Vegas tonight but nothing yet.

Petro likely got his feelings hurt and that bridge may already be burned. I of course have no insight into what went on over the phones, but when Army signed Faulk and then doubled-down by signing Krug, that was a professional "F-U" to Petro's agent for sure and perhaps Petro himself.

Yep I know there tactics. I'm for sure willing to add. Always depends what both teams value in terms of finishing this deal.

But Jersey doesn't have a guy like Kravstov unless they're willing to move Boqvist.

Boqvist is nowhere near Kravtsov's level.

I'd be a little hurt myself. This all could've been avoided if we just stayed away from Faulk.
