Florida passes. That offer would easily get us Weegar, but Acciari would cost a fair bit more. Look at what Tampa had to give up for Coleman and Goodrow - something similar to that.

Still won't get it done. Dermott, Kerfoot and a 1st would probably be what it takes

Yeah, we don’t have to. Time has a way of doing that to leafs fans...I mean it has for the last 52 years.

This team is going to be near the top of the league but I don’t think it will win it all

that is still worth it imo and you can give Seattle a 2022 3rd to take someone like Engvall in the expansion draft

I am not trying to start a Habs-Leafs debate but Freddie has proven time and again that he is not a playoff performer. Your goal tending needs an upgrade to go deep into the playoffs. The Leafs have done a great job getting upgrades on D and have a Top 6 to outperform anyone in the league but the goaltending is still sketchy at best.

No freddy numbers in the playoffs have always been similar to his regular-season numbers

Numbers mean nothing when you can't get out of the first round 3 years in a row. Freddy is a solid goalie but not the guy who puts a team on his back and steals the game.

I mean this team isn’t much better. Sure Brodie is a nice add but the fwd group after the top 4 is bad. Like really bad. And I wouldn’t be so confident in that Dcore or goalie.

It works?!? that's all I'm saying but the Florida trade is a huge stretch! I do like the addition of Blueger. Barabanov takes the spot from Anderson. and Holl going to Anaheim actually makes sense good job!

Oh I'd give that up 100% for them. Acciari is the kind of cheap talent they need for the next couple years and Weegar would be a difference maker. This team looks really good.

well we can't prove you wrong because there's zero chance this team becomes reality.
but I have a feeling they'll do it for us in real life this year.

Acciari is a 20-goal scorer despite only having limited minutes, and Robertson is coming off a 50-goal season in the OHL and is one of the first players of his draft class (outside of the top guys) to make the NHL. It's a well-rounded forward group.

As for the defence, there's no way you can't have confidence in that. Every single one of those guys in the top-4 is a top-pairing worthy defenceman, and as for the goalie, Andersen has been elite for 3 of his last 4 years as a Leaf. No reason he can't bounce back to that.

I don't get why it would ideal to give up 5 good players for 1 good one and... whatever Bluegs/Acciari are (both analytically sketchy) when it just saves 3M

What about keeping those quality assets and working out some type of Andersen/Georgiev trade to save the cap space while not sacrificing in the short term

NYR would love veteran stability behind Shesty they just didn't want to pay 38 year old Lundqvist 8M for it and they'd appreciate another good young D asset

What about like

Andersen/Dermott <-> Georgiev/Gauthier as a base
