NYR will offer sheet Sergachev. It makes way too much sense and there is no way Tampa can match. Easily fits in their roster and is exactly what they need.

Have you made a lightning AGM before? If not, I suggest you do. Have fun making it work. Good thing they won the cup this year haha.

Well technically it's gonna cost them the picks and one of Deangelo and Lindgren, since they're definitely gonna lose one of them in the ED.

Ace all around except Strome, who is about equal to Kahun ultimately, but rode sidecar to Panny last year

Some may say Chytil/Kahun is underwhelming at 2/3 but I'd say by aggregate it's = to most 2/3 C combos

Meanwhile.... great googaly moogalies... they'd be so much better at W/D/G than most teams it's unfair

Strome dropped 59 points in 70 games last year. Kahun has never done that. Not even close. The panarin influence is real for sure, hence why he doesn't get a contract worthy of 59 pts in 70 games. But it shows that he can play with high level players also.

Nyr look good. Dangerous!

Seems fair to say losing RyanL to offer sheet Sergachev is worth it and that the 4th leading D scorer (in low TOI no less) is more valuable than RLindgren

Trying to stay understated there but like gosh

Lots of historical precedent of young talented players being bad defensively and improving with age

In reality the Rangers must leave a 5 mil dollar cushion for bonus penalties. Signing Sergachev would mean losing Deangelo.
Unfortunately the Shattenkirk buyout is a killer for this season.

I'm pretty sure there's a lot of bidders for Sergachev if he's accepting offer sheets

Oh ya you are right. Saying 8m in bonuses. Ya Deangelo will need to be traded. My bad! Good catch!

That's just really silly I'm not going to lie

Strome had 59 in 19 per game beside Panarin
Kahun had 31 in 13 per game beside Jared McCann

Kahun played 14 fewer games

Kahun outscored him last year and is ~2M less. By points/60 Kahun leads by a bit. Not saying DK >>> Strome but reasonable to say he's a better option

Selling high on Strome would be fantastic

Should be interesting to see how Tampa gets out of the cap mess they are in.
Players won't wave NTC/NMC's, Stamkos on LTIR possibly?
Hefty fines, forfeit games and they lose draft picks if they cant fix it.
Good luck signing RFA's Cirelli and Sergachev.

According to the collective bargaining agreement, teams are allowed a "performance bonus cushion" of 7.5% of the salary cap total. For an $81.5 million cap, that works out to $6.1125 million in bonuses that won't affect the cap. Anything they pay in performance bonuses over that amount counts against their salary-cap figure.

Lafrenière: $2.85 million, Igor Shesterkin: $2.85 million, Kaapo Kakko: $2.65 million, Adam Fox: $850,000, Filip Chytil: $350,000, Julien Gauthier: $300,000, Ryan Lindgren: $212,500.....Total: $10.0625 million
Subtract $6.1125 million from that total, which equals $3.95 million, and add that to the Rangers’ cap charge.
Now, there are other entry-level players who could make the roster......Morgan Barron: $850,000, Vitali Kravtsov: $850,000, Justin Richards: $500,000, K’Andre Miller: $300,000, Tarmo Reunanen: $132,500
Reality 5-6 million bonus total

So if the 5-6mil in bonuses happen they will not be penalized for that based on this current construction? They would need to be over 6.1125 in bonuses? Is that correct?

After the allowed 7.5% cushion (6.1125 mil) With the current roster players (bonuses = 10.0625 mil) the current bonus cap hit is 3.95 million. We still can be charged 5-6 million total depending on which entry level players make the roster.
Answer is the Rangers will used up more then 6.1125 and will owe 4-6 million

I feel like Tampa would match that amount for Sergachev, but not for Cirelli. Not only because Sergachev is better, but with Point and Stamkos still up front, there is more of a need to keep some of their Defensemen intact.

We actually did a rebuild, 8 1st in the last 4 years where TOR wasn’t close to that. Leafs other issue is the kid GM who believes in analytics 100%. So coming out of a “rebuild” you test out a rookie GM, this seems like a bad idea.
