Description
Pretty straight forward here. I feel like the Stars will continue to improve based on the young players' maturation. The cap is tight, but I don't think a trade is worth it, with Cogliano and Comeau coming off the books this year anyway. I think enough is coming off the books to be able to afford Miro, and - depending on his development, if he's worth a substantial raise - Kiviranta.

I think Gurianov is a fair contract considering he's only been in the NHL one year. Hintz needs to find consistency before earning more, which I think he will by the end of this contract. For the start of the year, you'll have Hintz or Pavelski be the first line center until Seguin heals up. I think Faska remains 3rd line center unless Hintz really struggles.

Not a lot of changes this year, but the Stars came so close with so many injuries... hopefully continued development will push them over the edge.

Faksa didn't come off his ELC to his current contract. Most mid-tier players of this caliber get the bridge deals before the bigger deals. Hintz' bridge deal is more than Faksa's, for comparison

I do like Hintz very much, but he's only played two years and is still developing. I think he'd rather this and then get paid big in 3 years once Pavelski is gone, etc.

As stated above, both Hintz & Gurianov will see bridge deals that are less than Faksa's current contract. When their bridge deals are up in 2-3 years, then they'll see a significant raise, more lucrative than what Faksa is going to see with his newly inked 5-year deal.
