Considering you can't give Johnson away for free and teams like the Islanders are also desperate to cut salary, you will be paying those prices for no return. You won't be getting a 1st for getting rid of an overpaid 3/4 line winger in Gourde.

Zero chance Yzerman trades a player he JUST signed, even if the value was there. It's just unethical as a GM.

MTL will decline. It's an absurd trade - Gourde's contract gives him negative value - so no. I WOULDN'T trade juulsen and a 1st for two 2nd round picks that might actually be end-of-round picks.

Tampa has won the cup... now teams are not going to give tampa any gifts, especially with a flat cap.

MTL says no. If TB's back is to a wall in cap hell, no way is MTL giving them a 1st round pick that might be a lottery pick to help TB.
