Before the trade, most analysts felt that Toews was worth between 3 and 3.5. So you might be able to bring that down a bit. Art Staple wrote about it in the athletic last week. https://theathletic.com/2115778/2020/10/05/what-league-insiders-are-saying-about-the-next-contracts-for-islanders-rfas/

I doubt he gets 3.5. 4 plus seems like what top 4 Dmen are getting. And he's definitely that.
