And the biggest fish of the free agency gets hooked.

Nothing unexpected there.

Who will Vegas lose? Fleury will be a tough trade as most who needed a goalie got one. Likely Nate Schmidt who has been excellent for them or maybe Marchessault...

This should actually be fair value, his playstyle projects him to stay as a top-pairing player into his late 30s. Never know when a massive injury might derail things, though.

If it's true that he was willing to take 8mil in St. Louis and Armstrong wouldn't do it because of a NMC, then Armstrong flubbed this one big time. If Petro wanted 9 mil, no way the Blues would have done that. Faulk at 6.5 looks worse and worse for the Blues, but good for Petro to get paid something.

It’s what was expected and he GOT PAID and they solidified their Right Side big time. The guy had a value contract and one of the best team friendly deals in St Louis for many years and now he gets a big payday and it’s super solid for 5 years and IF he maintains his health well it could still be good for the last two years. It’s certainly a win for Alex and there is never anything bad to say about Alex. First class guy and player. The only thing left for Vegas to do is shed cap because they are looking powerful!!!

Team has no choice but to shed cap now. More than Just MAF. Which is going to cost an arm and a leg.

My guess is Reaves to TOR.

If I'm another GM, why would I trade for anyone from Vegas? Let them figure out how to get out of this cap hell they've put themselves in

Anyone that voted no is just salty that he didn’t sign with their team. Great signing for the Golden Knights.

Carolina can always circle back if enough picks are offered smile
