Description

My teams are typically more reserved, as I think you're often better off building from within... especially in the Rangers' case. But, let's see if we can have some fun with this one.

I think these trades are relatively fair, considering all teams' current needs. The Rangers definitely drastically improve, without completely ripping anyone off. I really think this 4th line will help the team a lot more than anything with so much youth up front, someone will need to do the grinding and heavy hitting.

The terms of all contracts are kind of up in the air; take 'em with a grain of salt. I assume right now players will want to prefer short term deals to get past the flat cap. Also I'm leaving Jack Johnson in the lineup, since I'm going to assume he'll play majority of the year... whether K'Andre Miller isn't completely ready, or Bitteto/Hajek struggle. I think all three of those LDs will get plenty of playing time this year.

EDIT: Also forgot to mention, since I know most Rangers fans "hate" Howden... I'm a decent fan of his, but we also clear up cap to make room for someone like Soderberg, who could be a pretty good 3rd line center here. But Morgan Barron and Patrick Khoderenko should get some looks at the 3C, too. And, you still have Paquette anyway.

Additional Details:

NYR gets Cirelli, who should be a more reliable upgrade over Strome, and Paquette, who is a very valuable role playing 4th line center. NYR desperately needs a 4th line that will do the things the young kids up top won't do, or can't do. Paquette was already rumored to be traded, so perhaps they'll be up for this. This will allow them to sign Cernak and Sergachev, bolstering their defense for years to come. They already have an overwhelming surplus of offensive talent. I don't think they'll be able to make any other moves if nobody would even take Tyler Johnson for "free" off waivers!

Additional Details:

TBL gets a cheap 2nd/3rd line center in Chytil to immediately replace Cirelli. They also get Rykov, who is supposed to blossom into an NHL defensemen (that NYR will likely never use due to their overwhelming defensive prospect pool). They also get Kevin Rooney who can be a good 4th line center option for now, that is signed for two years on the cheap. And, picks to either use, or trade for rentals later.
