Our fans seem confused about kahun

Created by: asauer1122
Team: 2020-21 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 13, 2020
Published: Oct. 13, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Long story short, Sabres do not own the right to Kahun anymore. he is an UFA and free to go anywhere. Many sabres fans seem to think we still have him which is false. We can still sign him however with hall signing that is going to be unlikely which is totally fine

As for this team, full of potential. Need to address goalie and LD. Other than that, sabres look better on paper than they have in 10+ years

Jackets trade probably unrealistic but its 2020 so why not

I've seen him play. He doesn't have that competitive edge and tends to give up on plays. He has a terrific shot and incredible reach, but he doesn't have the speed to keep up or that edge needed. When the Blues drafted him I was hoping he would turn into a Blake Wheeler type (minus the speed) but he didn't show it at all. He should have stayed in college another year at least.

When did you watch him play?? Im guessing you have not seen him play since he was a blue or his earlier time as a sabre. He is way more complete now and much bigger physically.

I watched him last year throughout the season as well as in Rochester. I think he could still develop into a good 3rd liner, but he's not there yet.

OK great we have an honest discussion about a player.
I watched him as well in the prospect challenge and he looked ready to me.
His stats in Rochester also seem to point in that direction.
But we can still disagree, who really knows until he laces up the skates in a royal blue uniform.

Now as to the line up.
When Kessel was traded to Pittsburgh, I expected him to play with Crosby.
Instead, not having to face top defenders, he drove his own line with Haglin and Bonino.
Olofsson needs Eichel to score. While he has a great release he needs someone to get the puck to him
Skinner did very well with younger Staal, but IMO Jeff is waiting to release the magic again.
Hall can drive his own line and wants the puck, IMO separate him from Jack who does his best with the puck as well.
This would give the Sabres 3 great lines to compete with the best of the teams:
Olofsson Eichel Reinhart (Sam seems to do OK as the third wheel on a date).
Skinner Staal Cozens (IMO Dylan will be better than Sam, all the data seems to corroborate this as well).
Hall Mittelstadt Okposo (Mittelstadt with two third line wingers put up third line pts, give him 2 top line wingers and let's see what happens).
Girgensons Eakin Thompson (I moved Okposo off of this line as it goes against my grain to have a fourth line with a $10,450,000 cap hit).
Most teams would not have the depth to stop three scoring lines.
I welcome your feedback.

EDIT:
Did Adams know he had Hall in the bag when he did not give Kahun a QA?
You can see where you could pencil in Kahun on the third line instead of Hall, just as easily.
While I would be very disappointed to lose Kahun, Keeping Hall is more important.
Kahun would still be valuable as he gives the Sabres depth.
It would be nice to see Sam and Dominick signed at decent contracts.

I had the exact same thought to split up hall and eichel because hall is one of those rare wingers who can run a line. However, we need to see what they can do together. lots of options tho which is great. And as for Kahun, I belive they felt they had a great chance of hall which led to no QO
