Gibson isn't going anywhere, and that is a baaaad return for Kane. He is still a top 5 winger in the league and would get a much more significant return if we trade him now.

I don’t disagree, but it’s important to remember that Burakovsky and graves are young and in their prime. Kane can still give three to five great years, but graves can be a #1 LHD and Burakovsky could be a mainstay of the top 6. The 1st and 3rd just a realistic representation of Sakic never trading too much draft capital. This trade just helps Segway to a new era.

I’d take that return for the hawks as well.

Also, I don’t understand your one for three thing. Burakovsky is a top sixer, Graves is virtually a 1LHD, and you got the first.

graves is not a 1lhd imo, hes a decent defender playing w the best young defensive talent in the league. bura is decent and that first is going to be late. new trades ok just think we can get better value elsewhere

Graves is nowhere near a #1LHD, at best he is a 2nd pair guy. I am fine with trading Kane at this point (it's definitely not going to happen but getting assets for him would be nice), but this ain't it.
