Description
DISCLAIMER-i don't like toronto...so my ratings may have a little bias but I'll try to give honest opinions about the players.

forwards
Matthews-92 (50 goal potential but I wonder if he can stay healthy)
Marner-88 (overrated a bit I think but a high end playmaking winger for sure.)
Taveres-88 (down year but good two way centre. gotta dislike the contract though)
Nylander-87 (had a great year and made that contract look great compared to...you know what)
now the drop off
Hyman-83 (gritty winger who can chip in offensively)
Kerfoot-82 (I liked him alot on Col but not so much this last year. the book is still open.)
Simmons-81 (This ain't 2017. he's old. he isn't close to the player he once was but a decent bottom-6 option)
Robertson-80 (the book is open for a ratings boost if he proves he can score without getting run through the boards.)
Engvall-79 (whatever, ok bottom-6 piece)
spezza-79 (good veteran option, I like keeping him for TOR)
Vesey-77 (meh)
Boyd (double meh, IDK)

defense
Reilly-85 (overrated bc he plays in Toronto but a solid d-man overall)
Muzzin-85 (maybe not a popular opinion, but I think muezzin is more important to the leafs blueline than Reilly)
Brodie-84 (good add for sure but I'm always a bit skeptical of the "play the off-side guy". if he can do it more power to him)
drop off again.
Holl-81 (nothing special, would be better on the bottom pair.)
Bogosian-79 (remember, he did get bought out and found his way onto a cup winning team. he's not some super special player all of a sudden. hopefully TOR has enough Corsi elsewhere to shelter him.)
Sandin-79 (young. play now. rating increase later.)
liljegren-77 (see Sandin.)

goalies
Anderson-84 (not as bad as last year, but not as good as was thought before)
Campbell-80 (when I heard someone mention possibly trading Anderson and going with Campbell + whoever for a 50/50 split I actually laughed. overvaluing backups, underdogs, and depth players. classic.)

Reilly overrated? Idk man, at 23 he had a 50 point season with noted fossil Hainsey as his d partner. The next year, he got 20 goals and 72 points, was a Norris candidate and one of if not the best offensive defenceman in the league that year.

This year he was injured for the whole season, not to mention the team sucked for huge stretches as well - and he had noted boat anchor Cody Ceci strapped to him the whole time. Other notable partners in his career include Zaitsev, Polak, 2014 Jake Gardiner, and Matt Hunwick. His first three years here were on a dumpster fire team as well

Still, he has 2 good seasons to his name at 26, I get that.

Let's see how he plays with a good partner like Brodie, then we can see how overrated he is >: )

All the other ratings look good though

Rielly is much better than an 85 imo, he had 72 points two seasons ago, he was hurt for a lot of last season and therefore lost his pp time to barrie. He's still an elite puck mover and skater, and Ann above average defender. Playing with Brodie this year will allow him to be much more creative offensively compared to what he was able to do when he played with Ceci and hainsey in previous years.

Ratings are ok, Andersen is the worst rating here he is an 87-88. Take the Leafs D last year and the way he plays.... he's awesome. Put him on TBY or another Defencive team he is a top 5 goalie.... at least top 7

this year, with a solid d group in front of him, a more well-rounded forward group and a great backup + some rest, I say he maybe has his best year yet
