That’s why I said overpayment. We don’t want gaudreau. He’s small, and not the guy. He’ll also cost way too much real soon. Overpayment but Habs decline

If you don't want him you still accept and flip him for far more assets, to decline this is idiocy, not that it would ever be offered. It's not like the Habs are anywhere close to competing anyway

The whole point of this was to get people to lay-off with the Gallagher trades. Gallagher is and will always be a hab. A stall in contract talks and the world goes nuts

I can't even honestly say they're top 3 in their division and they certainly don't hold a candle to Tampa, Vegas, Colorado, Washington, NYI etc. They might be a wild card team next year but they're not close to being an actual contender.

They’ll be real close to Boston and Toronto and could easily pass them. With price, that tough defence and offensive depth they could surprise teams. Not saying they’ll win the cup but if they get in(which they should) they’ll make some noise.
