Hawks are a hard team for me to predict where they'll end up. If the goalies are awful they'll be in the bottom-3. If the goalies are decent (not great) and a couple young guys take big steps they could be in the Playoffs. The Central is just a mess of flawed teams after the Avs.

Gotta say that Stars haven't changed much. They've pretty much kept their core.

I just don't trust that team. They aren't consistent at all.

Blues won the year before too AND the fact the even the Hawks made the play-in round in last place kinda means it's the hardest division in hockey. No other division did that.

Even as it pains me to say it as a Stars fan I kinda agree with you there.

If Delia and Mitchell step up, I say we're a lot like we were in 18-19; obvious promise but just not enough to reach the Promised Land.

Central is the most even division in the league I'd say.

It'll be fun to see how ARI can manage when they change the division in a year.

The has a lot of meh teams, but no awful teams. Not a lot of separation between any of them (except Col). It's been that way since they made these current Divisions.

The only thing I disagree with is zero elite teams except COL. COL might be elite in the future...no doubt. BUT 2nd, 5th, and 4th is how they finished the last 3 years. Having STL and DAL be in the cup finals...they've got elite teams.

As confident as I am on Lankinen and Mitchell making immediate impacts, who (besides Detroit and maybe Ottawa) could be worse?

Getting to the Finals doesn't make for an elite team. It just means a team got hot at the right time.

DAL has been 3rd, 4th, 6th, 6th, the last 4 years.

The year STL won the Cup they were a lottery team the first half of that season; seriously only once in the first 49 games were they above .500. It took a rookie goalie get blazing hot to save the season for them. They've been 1st, 3rd, and 5th (missed the Playoffs) the last 3 years.

None of the Central is close to being the Hawks almost decade of elite. Every year the entire Division know the road to the Cup went though CHI; those were elite teams.

SJS is running Jones/Dub as their goalies.

I see no issue, they’re running two underpaid and elite goalies in front of three (3) elite and also way underpaid defensemen in Burns Karlsson and Vlasic.

I think you need to look up the definition of elite if Jones and Dub fall into that category. Or have you not watched hockey since the 16-17 season?

Well I get that. I think your version of elite and mine might be a little different. I call CHI a dynasty. Im also a Hawks fan, but I hear ya.

I'm a Wild fan, and I see no difference between any of MN, NSH, DAL, STL most any year for the last decade or so. None of them are the WSH, TB, PIT, BOS, CHI teams that were getting 100p a season with relative ease.

COL is the odd team out because they weren't even good until the last couple of years. I think they are the best team in the Central currently; but that's because the CHI, MN, NSH have all fallen off. DAL is a looks great on paper team, but the results don't match that. And well the Jets are the Jets. STL is the always in the mix, but never the favorite team.

I hope that was a follow up joke to my joke but just to clear it up, I don’t think Jones or Dubnyk are elite and I definitely don’t think their three big defensemen are underpaid.

Fair point, there’s a lot of people on here who probably think that.
