It would be a 1st + Podkolzin as a rental then build from there with an extention. Although just cause talks of an extention have broken off doesn't mean Gally is on the market.

i think your best bet is to burry Baertschi in the minors like last season because I don't see anybody giving up a pick for him.

For me the dumping of Eriksson is an insult ! Kole Lind is not what expected as rookie return, at least the 1st is somewhat okay. The value of Gallagher is on par (onevsone) with Boeser ... so pay the 1st liner you get please!

The picks (don't know who Lind is, maybe he's better than I think) are enough to dump Loui. In other words, you are getting Gallenger for free. Take out Loui, or if you'd like, add a 1st and a 2nd.

The price for any team to acquire Gallagher would be sky high. The Habs have all season to negotiate. Habs can't afford to lose Gallagher. Tatar wont be back next season, Toffoli can play on the left, so there is no problem fitting Gallagher in. The only thing is Gallagher wants to win as he said at the end of last season, son if Habs miss the playoffs again, then he might walk. A contract will probably one of two options:

7M x 5 years or 6M x 8 years. It will be up to him what term he wants, but salary is about fair between 6-7M.

I still can't believe Habs fans would want anything to do with those contracts. It's clear that fans over value Gallagher, probably because he's a great dude and great and soul guy. Understandable. I'm a flat cap Bergevin is gonna try to squeeze him.

Detroit passes, Not giving up picks for players we don't need. Our roster is set. Baertschi isn't even worth a 7th rounder.
