Detroit already has a full 23 man roster so bear cheese is a no go unless premium picks/prospects are attached but doubtful given the cap in question.

didn't mention an extension anywhere - even if so, he's nearing 30 and the type of player thats gonna drop off a cliff in like 3 years. don't see that as a possibility, he's just a high end 2nd line F

I'd go with:
Miller-Petterson-Gally
Hoffman-Horvat-Boeser

Outsider opinion, I have no idea what Hoglander is as a player. But that top 6 I listed on paper looks so dangerous. Also think it'd be a waste to give up quality assets for Gally and play him on the 3rd line

If there’s no extension then value is fine, but we wouldn’t trade him unless were out of the playoffs at the deadline. He’s easily a first line forward. He’ll probably fall in 4 years but that’s why your trading for him. 4 really valuable years and hopefully win a cup. Everyone mentions Gallagher to Vancouver but it would either be at the deadline or for podkolzin with Gallagher getting a new deal

fair enough, I could totally see this being a deadline move especially if they snag hoffman/dadonov/granlund in FA

I'd probably want to split miller and gally, both would probably play a similar role on their lines - horvat has played with miller and boes at times too, couple games in the playoffs... this could be a fit too

hoffman-pettersson-gallagher
miler-horvat-boeser?

Habs don’t trade Gallagher unless there is an extension. He’s worth more as a 2 year rental for the Habs than the deal laid out here. Any Gally trade has Podzolkin. Since any Gally trade involves an extension.

That’s what I said. We trade him with an extension in place or at the deadline if were out of it, maybe

Habs don't trade Gally. The moves they've made this offseason indicate they're trying to contend so if any Gallagher trade were to happen I doubt it would be for picks/prospects.

Also.. What's with all the Habs fans expecting Podkolzin in a Gally trade? Sure he's scored 30 goals but so has Eriksson. How about a Caufield for Loui swap?

The issue is you cant make trades with the package reflecting if there is an extension
