I like your idea of Hamonic, hes a solid stay at home veteran, who can play physical and is a good leader, he'd give a deep defense even more depth.

Not too sure about Giroux going to 3rd line and acquisition of Athanasiou seems a step too far, putting JVR and Patrick on 4th line where they'll just lose more value/confidence. I don't think we look that way, not with frost probably coming up. I think if we acquire another veteran dman, blocking zAMULA for this year, then we probably don't block frost or another rookie forward from coming up.

IMO, play Gust on the right and sign Greene for one year...

Provorov-Myers
Sanheim-Gust
Greene-Braun

Looks fine IMO

I like Greene but he's a left handed shot. Since he'd be at the same $3 million value I'd prefer to have Hamonic who provides a Right hand shot. Greene is better right now but for the most part Hagg provides the role the Flyers would be looking for from Greene at Left Defense.

Giroux at 3rd line center is mostly because of the uncertainty of Patrick. In all reality, Patrick should be the 3rd line center. If that happens, Giroux slides to 3rd line LW, Patrick to 3C, and Laughton to 4th line center. I don't see where JVR moves other than 4th line here with that top 9 whether AA is signed or not. NAK would just be the 3rd line Right Wing with the 4th line RW open to Raffl or a young player.

Patrick was out all of last year so just playing should be the confidence booster he needs. JVR is a veteran and his confidence is not of concern. He's a good scorer when he's hot but not much of an impact on the game otherwise. He doesn't drive play to create chances often enough and is more of a defensive liability than anything else. He's a big body who still needs to learn to impose his will. He skates well and should be much more impactful in all areas of the ice than he is. This team needs JVR to make a Keith Primeau type transition to his game to see more ice time and I don't think that is part of JVR's personal makeup to do.
