Resigning Tatar is just awful IMO.

He seems like a guy who's not very good in the playoffs which is, IMO, a problem for MTL

Us NYR could trade for Kulak... what would you Habs fans ask for him?

Paying a pick to move Edmundson to Seattle solves this in a hurry. Kulak stays cause he’s cheap and he’s solid

At his highest he could get a 3rd due to low cap hit and because he was able to fill top 4 for a good amount of games without being carried by Petry. One of NYR 4th could do the job

In this offseason, even if his cap hit is low, he could be a cap casulty like Nuutivara in CBJ who was traded for free. But CBJ Gm said he feared offersheet to Dubois+Gavrikov so it's why he traded Murray + Nuutivara in a hurry.

But Bergevin isnt in the same situation than Jarmo at CLB. He isnt forced to trade Kulak, nor any of his players actually : he can run 22/23 with a 700k forward that replaces Juulsen in the NHL roster but he might lose him to waivers. Therefore he'll not sell low on Kulak unless he still wants to bring some money in.

The best would be to trade Weal. He'll probably be in AHL eating 1m cap space. Kulak+Weal for a 4th can't be refused IMO

Last time I made a Kulak trade to NYR, your fellow NYR didn't like it because there were better options in your system

I mean... to keep JJ out of the lineup he’d do amazing
Lindgren-Fox
Miller-Trouba
Kulak-DeAngelo

Looks fine IMO

A 3rd IMO would be the price for Kulak. He's a really good 3rd pairing Dman who has routinely moved up to play in the top 4 with good results.

Highest 2nd lowest 3rd
Doubt Bergevin moves him tho
Since NYR aren’t contenders it would be a 3rd round pick but I rather keep Kulak than Mete
