Rangers can't do it because of bonus overages.

not when they have no more leverage. I guarantee you if Schmidt got a 3rd, Stamkos would only get a cheap roster player, a couple of good potential prospects and a 2nd. Maybe a 1st if the team is guaranteed to make it far because theyre stacked

Rangers wouldn't do Zibanejad for Stamkos straight up.

You cannot be comparing Schmidt and Stamkos rn. There is no comparison. Schmidt is a good top 4, Stamkos is an elite player. Tampa is not that dumb to trade him for garbage. They would get a top line player for cheaper no way Stamkos gets less than that

thats why i told you Stamkos gets way more in my proposal. But they definitely wont get full value for him. Hes 30, been dealing with injuries, getting paid 8.5 mill and Tampa isnt exactly dealing from a position of leverages considering Stamkos can nix any trade. Theyll get assets for him but its not like Tampa can afford to take cap back for him. So, it will be for futures that are close to NHL ready

Pass, not a fan of giving up good young player to get an injury prone guy who when healthy is great but isn’t healthy very often

honest question, do you understand the situation Tampa is in right now?
if you did, you would realize that them shipping Stamkos out requires them to take minimal cap back so they can sign their RFA's.

Chytil and a 2nd gets it done.

Your right Schmidt is probably gonna make the whole season, Stamkos is lucky to get 60 games and thats including playoffs

I disagree, Stamkos is an elite 1C who's average like 95 points over an 82 game schedule over the past two seasons. If the Rangers want him, I'd say it costs Kakko + 1st.

Comparing Schmidt to Stamkos is ridiculous. Stamkos is an elite 1C. It's annoying seeing the trade proposals that land the Rangers a 1C where they give up a collection of nothing.

It doesn't matter how many points he puts up u have to look at the facts.
1. Tampa in a very bad cap crunch where no one was willing to take a player for free. Which means they will have to get rid of good players or package them with pics
2. Stamkos should have the word fragile on his back because that's what he is, no one wants a player who is constantly injured.

There are a lot of star players that have been constantly injured through their career that prove that comment to be false including Malkin and Crosby.

You can say what ever you'd like but all I see on this forum is Rangers trade proposals that land then 1Cs and they give up nothing and it's just annoying (Seguin, Matthews, Eichel, Barkov, Stamkos). Stamkos is an elite 90+ point player and is probably not going to be traded at all because he has a NMC and took an extreme discount to stay in Tampa (taxes). But even if he did, it won't be for this pathetic amount of assets, like really? Look at the proposal again and tell me that I'm wrong. It would be more like Kakko + 1st or Lundkvist, Kravtsov, 1st

I'm just gonna leave it at this the Rangers should not be looking for centers who are injury prone or over the age of 30 Stamkos immediately becomes the oldest forward on the team. They should not be giving up assets for one they should sign a UFA and focus on drafting centers because every other position is stacked. They won't be realistic Cup contenders for a few years, so Stamkos would be 32 at best. He would be exiting his prime just when the team would need him most. It just doesn't make sense to trade for Stamkos

I'm not disagreeing with that. I don't think they should trade for him either.
