Stop. Dell is going to be the 3rd string goalie. Campbell is a fan favourtie and will not be moved.

Yeah, we're not getting rid of Campbell. Especially for a 6th. He'll take 25-30 games off Freddy's plate this year. Dell will be the Marlies starter/emergency third string goalie.

If Campbell is being traded, it will be for a 2nd AT LEAST. He traded 2 3rds for him (and swapped Moore for Clif).

Aaron Dell was a beast for my fantasy hockey team a few years ago... key words being "was" and "years ago"! He was signed as the 3rd string goalie to replace Kasimir Kaskisuo who just signed with Nashville. If we didn't add Dell, our 3rd string guy would have been Ian Scott or Joseph Woll and neither of them are ready for NHL action... and as we saw with Kaskisuo's brutal 6-1 loss to Pittsburgh last November, he wasn't ready for NHL action either! There is no way the Leafs trade Campbell and rely on Dell as the backup given how heavily they will focus on load management with Andersen this year.

As for the RFA signings, you are way overpaying both guys given the current flat cap situation. Mikheyev is expected to get no more than $1.5m according to Bob McKenzie; Dermott doesn't have arbitration rights so there's really not much he can do here if he doesn't like the Leafs QO of $874k. I think the Leafs might come up to $900k on a 1 year deal, but if Dermott wants more than that, he may find himself sitting out for the season... and that would be disastrous for both parties.

6 games in a Leafs uniform inflates your value that much, eh?

Campbell to me is the future and has the potential to become the next Markstrom, were not moving him especially at that price.

That's not inflating value. 2 3rds, depending on how high of 3rds they are, equal a second. There's nothing more to know. Also, being a UFA, Moore's value likely exceeded Clifford's. If you think otherwise, then you've somehow come to the conclusion that being in a leafs for 6 games uniform lowers you value.

Saying that Moore’s value likely exceeded Clifford’s is bold, based on the fact that there was a condition on The trade with an upgraded pick for LA if Clifford resigned...

Remember, it was you who said re: Campbell “if he’s traded he’s worth a 2nd AT LEAST”.

That's because the leafs are not looking to trade him. It would take an overpay. What does the upgraded pick have to do with Clifford's value exceeding Moore?
