Dubas has publicly said that Freddie is the guy this year. Can not see the Leafs trading for Kuemper. and especially not for two firsts. The rest of the spare parts are whatever. But not getting two firsts for a goalie with 2 seasons left on his deal (only one more than Freddie).

1 first and Engvall, Warsofsky for Kuemper

1 first and Räsänen, Agostino for Soderstrom

Arizona doesn’t do the Toronto trade.

You are cutting and pasting the Dubas quote unfairly. The quote starts off by him saying AT THE MOMENT... This is a business. Let's not forget that. With respect to this deal, I don't think the Leafs would ever make it. I think there is a fit here, but the Leafs, for one, would need Hossa's LTIR, and I think they would want Dvorak and Crouse as well, even before they entertained Kuemper. If the Leafs are going to help Arizona out of this situation, it's going to have to be a 2-way street, and potentially a three way deal to help alleviate some cap.

Soderstrom IS a first-round pick, so why would Arizona include him in a deal for one?

Kuemper for the first and Engvall is within reason, although I don't think it really benefits Arizona enough.

The Coyotes won't be trading any of their young prospects or core guys like Schmaltz, Dvorak, Keller, Garland, etc. And especially not Soderstrom.
