Kerfoot is miles better than Bennett. The Leafs are getting fleeced here

I like Bennett, but I like him as a LW. He's not a very proven center by any means and I think there are other potential options out there. Also, I cannot see a scenario where Dermott wins a starting job over both Lehtonen and Sandin.

Ryan is miles better than Kerfoot so Flames don't need a "3C upgrade"

We will happily keep Bennett, our pick and our cap space.

I mean, we have no idea who Lehtonen really is. He's killing it in the KHL, but the KHL is not the NHL. For all we know, he can be the next Zaitsev

Flames would absolutely never decline that deal. Kerfoot provides secondary scoring and I would is significantly better offensively then Bennett. Sure, Bennett plays a physical game, but that 1 dimension should not be worth everything that Kerfoot brings to the table, who, by the way, is the much better center of the 2. Plus you are getting an economical deal with multiple years of control.

My point was there is not just 1 LD to leap-frog, it's two of them. I think Dermott is gone, it's just a matter of finding the right deal.

I personally don't think Dermott is gone. If Dermott was gone, Dubas would have traded him, along side Johnsson, for Weegar. This offer was the asking price from the Panthers standpoint, Dubas declined.

Flames would absolutely 100% decline that deal, did you not see Bennett these playoffs? He was nearly a ppg. Kerfoot is really mediocre and would be a 4C in Calgary since Ryan is significantly better. Zero interest in arguing this since it has been discussed to death in 400 other thread.
Flames. Are. Not. Interested. In. Trading. Bennett. Stop. Asking.

From the Leafs side, if we didn't need anymore upgrades, I would have kept Kerfoot. Trading Kerfoot for Bennett gives us another physical presence and provides Brodie a familiar face in the locker room. We can also re-sign Dermott and Mikheyev to their expected value of $1.2 million, acquire Hamonic, and still upgrade the bottom 6 by adding in Martin.

You clearly haven't watched Kerfoot's game then if you think he is a 4C. The Leafs are downgrading and are getting fleeced

I understand what you are trying to do, but I do not agree with you, or at least with your AGM.

I am saying we don't want or need him, you keep him. He's overpaid in this flat cap and really doesn't do much. Flames have 3-4 centers who are all definitely better than Kerfoot. Monahan, Backlund, Lindholm, Ryan. Bennett was given the center role and moved away from Jankowski these playoffs for the first time in years and played excellent. We have no interest in trading him right now since he is low risk high reward if he picks up where he left off.
