Final Bergalicious Tweaks for THA CUP SON

Created by: Steve_321
Team: 2020-21 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 14, 2020
Published: Oct. 14, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I've soured on Poehling. He has a horrible attitude. Danny Kristo 2.0. Listen to any interview he's done. Plus he's posting pro-Trump stuff on his twitter account - politics aside, it just reeks of someone who is confrontational, which makes me question his coachability and potential to develop properly. Admittedly, this is a snap judgement, but I feel pretty confident it's accurate and would lay decent money on it. Time to convert him into a legitimate asset and get this team a cup. TABARNAK. Yes next year you need to figure out what to do with Laine, but that's a problem for next year.

Your assessment of Poehling is incredibly interesting. BTW's I know many NHL players that privately love Trump but publicly will not say anything for concern of backlash. But more to the topic, Ryan is an incredible young man from an amazing family. His mistake was similar to that of many others, leaving the CHL or NCAA and ending up in the NHL with grown men is an amazing eye opener for many. I am not implying Ryan will have an amazing career but it certainly will not be, because of his attitude. Everywhere he has been, people love his attitude.

I would rather roll with the three 2nd lines we have right now. Its a really hard team to shutdown.

While the WPG trade is unrealistic, I absolutely agree with you about Poehling. At this point he’s a 3C at best, and I wouldn’t be opposed to moving him just to get rid of his attitude. If we can get any value for him at all I’d jump on the opportunity to move him.

Let's jut put it this way. Would Crosby post a political statement on his twitter account? What exactly is the upside? WWCD (What Would Crosby Do) is a good litmus test. Again, I admittedly do not know the young man, have never spoken to him - but he is a professional athlete on arguably the highest profile team in the entire sport, in a liberal geography. It's a highly suspect decision. Also, see his quotes about the AHL vs NHL etc etc, and not even dressing for the playoffs. Let's be honest here.
