Description

From Portzline's article in the Athletic today. Texier - Dubois - Bjorkstrand is a lock. Domi and Atkinson on the 2nd line is also a lock with either Nyquist or Foligno on the wing. I'm leaning Foligno. Jenner - Koivu - Foligno also seems like a lock. That leaves Nash on the 4th line with a revolving door of wingers. I put Foudy but tbh 4th line minutes for him makes no sense. Wouldn't be surprised to see Gerbe or Robinson there instead.

Personally, I think you find a way to play Foudy in the top 9. Bemstrom should also either be in the top line or playing top line minutes in Cleveland (makes no sense to have another year where he's playing 5-10 minutes/game).

If it were up to me, I'd like the lines to be:

Texier - Dubois - Bjorkstrand
Foudy - Domi - Atkinson
Nyquist - Grigorenko/Stenlund - Bemstrom
Jenner - Koivu - Foligno

Considering how he played in the playoffs I doubt Foudy sticks on the fourth line for long

I love Torts but he is horrendous when it comes to giving rookies minutes. And he seems dead set on playing Jenner, Koivu, and Foligno on the 3rd line. Personally I'd like to see them play Foudy on the 2nd line with Domi and Atkinson. Then move Nyquist to help the 3rd line with Grigorenko and Bemstrom and play Jenner - Koivu - Foligno on the 4th line

Not a CBJ fan, but with foudys style of speed and skill wouldn’t he be good to be with the Jenner and Foligno line? Foligno still is a great hockey player and Jenner is decent but He gets two big guys to help create space for him/ he creates space for them driving the play with speed?

I love torts; my favourite coach in the show.
He knows what he’s doing but I think Foudy really needs to get slightly more freedom. Like Barzal at the isles he was offensively firing his first year, his second year he was reeled in a lot and at time it was noticeable to the point where it seemed uncomfortable in his decision making process (which I assume is still a thing but he’s really figured out how to do both now), and in his third year while his points have still not been super high he drives games for the isles. If foudy can get that same trust but still be disciplined to play defence I see it going a long way for him
