Love it all. The BS buyout. The cheap quality depth and now if only there was a way to unload JayB 🤔

Even as cheap as he is no one will want Benn.

The buyout window is closed, I think there's a second buyout period for teams that have an RFA that goes to arbitration, not sure if the Canucks have any RFA'S that did that though.

Virtanen is scheduled for arbitration oct 28. Do they need to actually go to arbitration in order to get the 2md buyout or just have a player elect?

They good moves but I'm not convinced Ferland is going on LTIR right away.

I'm not certain on how it exactly works but I'm pretty sure they need to actually go to arbitration, just filing isn't enough, I might be wrong about that though.

The player only has to file. The case doesn’t actually have to go to arbitration.

However, the buyout window only opens if the player signs with the team (meaning if the Canucks trade Virtanen they can’t but anyone out) and the window is only for 48 hours after the player is signed. As well, the player being bought out has to have a cap hit of at least $4 million.

OP’s post meets all those rules

Thanks, didn't know all the exact rules, the buyout minimum being $4M is interesting.

I really don't think VAN should unload Beagle... overpaid? yes but he is a force on the PK. him and motte were one of the top PK players this past season. i like the Leivo signing, but would like to see if a young guy could take the spot that you have Kahun in. maybe play Hoglander or Lind?
