Florida might accept, Boston and Calgary quickly decline

Lehkonen is a good player. Worth more than a 3rd round pick.

A 3rd is not enough for what Lehkonen brings to the table. I wouldn’t trade him if I were Montreal at all. I don’t want anything to do with Hoffman anyway.

Nate Schmidt is worth more than a 3rd too, but the trade market is far from the "real market value" right now and any capdump is highly paid.

This is why I think those 3 trades returns are overvalued.

Many teams needs a good LD Depth and I would include Armia to Edmonton as exemple... for a low return like a 3rd
and Byron would need a Mid draft pick with it to be sent anywhere in the league... like Ottawa that need to reach to floor cap.
But the goal is more around Hoffy accepting a one year deal... I don't think so because he is 30yo and in case he only score 20G and 45pts in MTL is value would drop at 5M a year next season...
I think Smashville would get him at same Gally contract 6,5M/5-6years

For sure. I like the Hoffman signing, but it seems like MTL is paying way too much for their bottom 6. Maybe Tatar is the one to be dealt. highest cap hit and probably has the most value out of the 3 guys dealt

Yeah but switching Tatar for Hoffman would be a lateral move (even if different kinds of players). Better not mess with the chemistry anymore with all the new additions already. Hoffman also has a reputation not been the best teamate also.

Bergy knows when to stop. Let see if there is a season first, and the team makes the playoffs second, and then add some firepower at the TDL.

Lehkonen has a 2.4M cap hit. He’s not getting traded anyway.
