Realistic Contender

Created by: NazKat
Team: 2020-21 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 15, 2020
Published: Oct. 15, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Kerfoot + Dermott for Copp - Leafs get rid of some salary and pick up a solid cheap 3C who is young, good defensively, and plays the PK. Winnipeg picks up a solid offensive center and a young defensemen to help their D problems.
Holl for 3rd - Leafs "dump" salary for a 3rd. Holl wasn't too great after January and Lehtonen looks like he is a legitimate Top 4 D. Vancouver pick up a cheap deal to play the RD which has major holes.
Engvall + Rosen for Weegar - Leafs get a solid young defensemen who can play either side on a good deal. They give up depth in Rosen but he hardly played for them. Engvall wasn't too bad for the Leafs and he can be a solid 2-Way Forward for the Panthers.
Everyone on LTIR will be part of the Taxi Squad if the NHL goes with the expanded rosters and by the looks of it no AHL Season.

You’re going to say with a straight face that florida deal is realistic?

Hey. He added two mid-round draft picks. Clearly it's fair!

At some point they'll stop with the Holl to Vancouver trades. We have no cap space to even sign our RFAs at the moment. We don't need to give up picks to put ourselves in worse shape. If you take Baertchi back the deal could work though.

I was joking. Bracco has about as much value as the rest of your package (nothing).

It was a kinder way of saying that florida package is a joke.
