He wants to join the NHL, he’s just keeping fresh and skating up there. He said his goal is still to play next season just no rush on a contract signing. He’s probably waiting to ensure we actually are playing Jan 1 - he’s played Swiss hockey before I doubt he finishes there rather than the a shot at the cup

I just don't like the idea of having two really slow guys on the ice at the same time and if you get Thorton you have 2 or him, Spezza and Simmonds on the ice together. I think I'd sooner keep Kerfoot at center and pass on Thorton. Unfortunately

Sure but at 41 he can change his mind too. I hope he comes back to the Leafs but after his career he's earned whatever decision he wants

Thornton has proven he can make it work. I wouldn't do it if we had to trade kerfoot to make it happen as depending on Spezza and Thornton sounds like a recipe for disaster. But if we can keep kerfoot I think it's certainly worth the gamble.

mikheyev is worth way more like 1.8 even 2M so that's why we have to move kerfoot.

Robertson will be that other LW. Cheaper and better

I think I would pass, unless Spezza and Thorton agree to split time. I just don't see a way to have 3 slow guys in the bottom 6 that works for our system.

I like it. Love the idea of Jumbo to the leafs.

Mikheyev is so hard to predict.

I think more and more Robertson gets his 9 games and is sent down. He can't go to the ahl so I am not convinced they want to commit to keeping him for the year.

Trading Kerfoot without another c under 35 who is good at 3c is dumb

I think he'd rather play for HC Davos than the other teams that he was speaking with.

I've heard that it is his eventual plan to return to the NHL but is playing in the Swiss League to keep fit for the potential 2021 season.

If the Leafs sign Thorton it will be because the league is allowing for an extended taxi squad. I think best case scenario, the fourth line will play 75% of games switching between Thorton, Spezza, Barabanov etc...

I have been debating a line which yes thorton at 3c is risky but (Kerfoot-Thorton-Vesey) could be very intriguing. In general Thorton would be a good add and despite his limitations is still a very capable player and would probs do better offensively with us.
