I could see Winnipeg having interest in Dunn, but they won't be taking on Steen.

Yeah, a couple of STL journalists, one at the Post, one at the Athletic. His injury from the playoffs is still a mess and it seems they don't know if/when he might be back. Some speculation he could just ride out the last year of his deal and retire, but nobody really knows what will happen yet.

Honestly I’m not even sure we would want Dunn. He would make us better this year, but then we’d lose something significant in the expansion draft, and he would block Heinola and/or Samberg from earning top4 minutes in the future. I’d rather get a 1 year stopgap at 2LD, similar to our situation with Statsny. Maybe Goligoski/Hjalmarsson?

Blues don't even need to move Steen's contract. They could just trade Dunn somewhere for whatever they want without attaching his deal to it. Steen is done and will be placed on LTIR to finish his career out.

Why would Blues want to trade Steen? He’s giving us flexibility on LTIR.
