Reinhart is probably a fair bit better than Laine. That's not the general perception. Pilut has some solid underlying numbers, but he didn't gather enough counting stats apparently.

I would rather have Reinhart than Laine TBH. Sabres already have a version like Liane in Olofsson.

I'll say this for Reinhart: he has the better underlying 5v5 numbers between he and Eichel even in terms of scoring, hard to get a WOWY there but hey pretty cool

As for Laine: analytically he's garbage aside from PP scoring (elite) and 5v5 scoring (just quite good) so...

Your assessment here is solid for sure. Fascinating

I don't disagree with you, but public perception kind of does. Laine is a finisher, but Reinhart is a play driver.

With that said, I think Laine is kinda getting shafted since he's actually an outlier in terms of sustaining shooting percentage. A lot of, if not all, models assume shooting percentage regression, and I think it's kinda fair to assume Laine keeps shooting way above average. But there's still more finishers than play drivers available on NHL level. With EP40 Miller becomes a finisher, with Panarin Zibanejad can score 50 etc.

Well - since Thompson is kinda bad and Eakin is actual garbage, no. Also, Eichel always has at least one good winger as far as I know.
