Okay so yeah Detroit should:

- use the stagnant cap to hope young talent-who'd be at least as good until 30 as the players they'd allocate that $ to anyways- take low $ long term deals

- use the cap space while tanking to take on short term bad contracts and get young talent in return

- let their elite prospects spend more time in the AHL

💯

Hmm, Buffalo would certainly look at this.

Dropping Okposo's contract would be a positive as would acquiring Komorov at half price.

I don't see the incentive for DET to do those trades. Helping out other teams with money, but not enough in my eyes in sweeteners.

Doubt it
We can buy out Okposo & save more $$$

And idk that Komorov AND Helm AND Hickey are needed or wanted by us

JHS was on waivers so if we wanted him we had first dibs. I’d give Pilut a shot for a late round pick and that’s about it. Niku is very ehhh to me again just like the others and just about every rebuilding team has these guys in spades. Detroit passes on all.

The Okposo contract is buyout proof. We barely save anything and continue to hurt for three years after his contract is supposed to be over. Plus, the buyout window is over.

There’s added buyout windows
Okposo’s contract is NOT buyout proof
He’s actually playing well for us anyways
And it’s just a bad trade for extra forwards & defensemen
we don’t really need/would want
*imo of course
