That's a Senators first round pick, make it top 5 protected

I think the Sens acquiring Laine would be absolutely hilarious, and would love to see it.

I'm so torn on this trade though. I don't think you can say "It's gotta be top 5 protected", and I'm not totally sold on Brown/Abramov being the prospect package. They both have upside, but if I'm Chevy, I'm not doing this unless Brannstrom or Lassi are subbed in for one of Brown/Abramov.

Even in Ottawa Laine doesn't crack the first line...

I’d do Thomson instead of Abramov. Make the pick protected tho

Ahhhh! I don't think I can! I just think there's a bunch of teams that could match this deal. The unprotected pick would be what pushes this over the edge.

I think Ottawa might do it with Brannstrom but there wouldn’t be a first in there. Brannstrom + Brown + Abramov and 2 2nds

I would definitely consider it. I'm curious as to what Jets fans think?

it depends on how people value Brannstrom. I think because we took Sanderson, Brannstrom might possibly be traded on moved to the right side.

Isn't Brannstrom a RD already?

None of the players in the deal fit any team needs for Winnipeg. It would likely need to be a young, established top 4D for the Jets to consider it.

idk, he shoots left, has been playing the left side but apparently he prefers the right side. I think he was paired as the RD with Dahlin in the WJC a few years back

Gotcha. Haven't seen a Sens game in a bit (or a Ducks game for that matter tears of joy)

Man that's a big trade but I don't see the sens moving a 1st anytime soon, even if it is protected. I can get behind a Braanstrom, Tierney, Abramov plus a 2nd. I think the Jets could get more of what they want from another team

Personally I think Stone is a better overall player than Laine and it was Braanstrom, Lindberg and a 2nd in the Stone trade. Lindberg was a throw in. I get it's not the same with age, goal scoring ability and potential being the biggest factors. But If I had to choose between the 2 wingers, I'm still taking Stone right now. Hell he might even command more than Stone on his next contract. which is scary. I'd be willing to give more than the Stone trade because I get it's not the same, but not a crazy amount more

I agree. Brannstrom is still going to be a stud but if we wait a year until he becomes a star, then it really might not take much to add to him to get Laine

An unprotected pick makes this trade an instant decline.

Id rather keep Lassi though. You that high on Abramov or that low on Lassi?

I’m high on both. But I think Thomson might have more value due to being a RD picked in the first round
