START OF THE YEAR WITH INJURIES
Bjork - Bergeron - Smith/Stud
DeBrusk - Krejci - Kase
Ritchie - Coyle - Smith/Stud
Kuraly - Lindholm - Wagner
Senyshyn, Frederic

The B’s would probably still have to move salary out to bring in a Hoffman type... Hoffman wants a short term 1 year type deal. If that’s the case, moving DeBrusk out doesn’t make a ton of sense in my mind. Also, LHD is an obvious need but if you bring one in who do you protect in expansion? Gryz? Or the new guy? I would lose my mind if BOS had to give up prospects picks just to make sure SEA doesn’t take Gryz, FLA/NYI got killed on that, plus the b’s really need to start filling the prospect pool. Kinda need to see what Zboril/Vaak have as well, Zboril was Prov’s best defensemen down the stretch and almost made the team last year. I think they save some cash and if it’s a problem they will address it during the year. Also Weegar is a RHD, so that one is a bit of a head scratcher. Why sign Miller if you want Weegar?

Also, it sucks that B’s haven’t got some of these FAs. It sucks even more that a lot of them have gone to teams in the division. But it happens, I mean Hall and Dadonov went to teams that weren’t even close to the playoffs. Obviously they could provide more $$ term. It happens.

Sure, but the point still stands. They have 2 RHD who can play the left side already. I get that he’s an upgrade but expansion still complicated things. The Kahun/duclair type player isn’t a bad idea, if you do it you might as well move out Bjork for something

I mean unless we don’t have any injuries, bjork would play on the fourth

Eh. Not really big on that idea. But I see the idea, I just think he still has value out there. To be honest I’d love to see Frederic make the jump and play. I think a Frederic - Kuraly - Wagner line would be great

I doubt they bring Chara back. I think he'd have been resigned by now if they planned on him next year. Plus he doesn't fit on the roster if they plan on using Grz, Zboril, Lauzon, and Vaak on the left side next year. Pairings are more likely to look: Vaak - Chuckie; Grz - Carlo; Lauzon - Clifton; Zboril - Miller.

In my mind, they could be seeing if they have room for him after FA settles, RFAs get signed. I just don’t see Vaak making that jump. I think Zboril can find his way playing with Carlo, maybe the same goes for Vaak.

My bad, I messed one up. Lauzon is a LHD (listed as RD) who can play both sides, Miller has played both sides in the past as well. I just don’t see trading assets for Weegar and letting gryz or him go to expansion.

Wouldn’t mind a big LHD vet when Lauzon/Zboril have young dman hiccups. That would help to lesson Chara’s load as well.

I don’t think kevan miller has ever played LD in the NHL. Anyway, i wouldn’t count on him playing an NHL game. Agree they shouldn’t trade for weegar, but they don’t have this group of right shot d that can play the left side. They have zero.

Just not true... he has. Also if they didn’t think he would play he would’ve been a PTO. Not signed to 1.25. They have 2 first round picks that have barely had a chance to play either. Eventually these guys need to get minutes. Also once again, bring in a LHD and who do you protect? It makes sense to bring a rental in during the year if it’s still a problem.
