Description
Another commentator mentioned this and I'd agree and then some.

Also trade away ZAR and Sceviour because we have guys that can do what they do. The lines here are awesome because we have a gritty skilled net front guy on each line and the defensive awareness on each line is very good. Getting Hoffman WOULD BE HUGE for our RAW goal scoring but we'd have to kick out some salary and Pettersson is the odd man out and he has a good termed contract for a team that needs a big skilled smart lots of minute D man. This trade also restocks our draft pick closet which we need.

Seems like a waste to put Poulin on the 4th line. And we could get more for Petterson. I’ve said it a million times over the past few days and I’ll say it again. Idk why pens fans have this obsession of trading Petterson all a sudden and sell low on him at that.

A second Round pick for Pettersson is not a bad deal. We need to add picks and using him to score a second rounder or maybe a 2nd and a 4th rounder would be good. He is solid but he still makes turnovers in our own end and since with have POJ who is tall and lengthy and can play the left side why not go with he cheaper option and then use that 4 million we would have been spending on Marcus to pay for Hoffman. Mike Hoffman has ALL the reason to want to sign for 3 years with the Penguins because he would them be on a top line with either Crosby or Malkin and he would play Power Play minutes and he would have a BIG chance on winning a Stanley Cup which he ha NOT had playing with Ottawa and Florida. He is 30 years old and has already made over 24 million bucks and winning Cups has to be important to him at this time of his career.

It's not that I don't like Pettersson, it's just that you must look at who's replaceable with what we have on our roster. POJ can do just that BUT Mike Hoffman is ONE HECK of a goal scorer and who can outright fire the puck with accuracy and strength. He would get soooooo many scoring chances with Crosby and/or Malkin passing him the puck on a nightly basis.

ALSO, in regards to "Wasting Poulin on the 4th line" I don't see that as a waste because it gets him NHL playing experience and will be the next guy up if one of our Wingers in the top 9 go down. He is a net front skilled guy who can play either wing and he BRINGS youth which has always helped us.

Every single one of the penguins is prone to defensive zone turnovers. We should trade them all by that logic lol. The guy only had 38 giveaways last year and 42 the year before. Marino had 42 giveaways last year. Malkin and Letang should open a bakery with how many turnovers they offer up.
Why not just keep our depth cause you know there will be an abundance of injuries, and god only knows if there will be a vaccine before the season starts. Kinda need all the nhl calibre depth we can get for next year. We have 384636284735286 forwards that are NHL ready, it’d be better to keep our d as sured up as possible.
A 2nd round pick does nothing for the pens. Petterson could get more even if you do trade him.

Well he is only going to get 10 minutes per night, if that. And he is going to be on in mostly a defensive role so it wastes his offensive abilities. Same with McCann tbh.
