Description
Deangelo moving to the left side, and Kreider moving to the right side, are two imperative things needed to help this team congeal for years to come. Both players have experience doing it, now they just need to do it full time.

Strome and Lemieux are finishing off their 2 year deals they signed "last year". I'm assuming one of Buch or Howden will not be returning, due to expansion, or simply due to overwhelming depth at their positions... but I'll sign them just for fun. If Strome doesn't work out for another year, I'd like to see a trade involving Buch and Strome (and potentially Georgiev) for a better 2C option.

For the defensive pairings, swap Deanglo and Miller as necessary.

9mil (plus an additional 2mil from buyouts expiring) left over for Zibanejad, Kakko, Fox, Deangelo, Strome, etc, if the flap cap persists the following year.

Lundqvist does most of his damage from the left circle. Very accurate one-timer. Sneaks down low to make plays and score goals.

I just don't agree with moving out an NHL ready and proven player, for someone who hasn't stepped foot on NHL ice yet. We gotta see what he can do here first. By that time, Deangelo could very well cement himself on the team. Not saying we should then turn around and trade Nils, but I think there's a way to make everyone fit

Deangelo has shown he's got the offense to be a #1 defenseman. He might just have great trade value. But the Rangers haven't tested him in defensive situations yet, and don't need to. Whether to keep or trade a guy should depend on what the return is, not whether you like him. But it's also not an issue because when his team needs a goal, Nils plays left defense. The above team looks expansion-proof, with just, like, Lindgren and Howden exposed. If there's a good trade out there for Deangelo, they take it. If not, he stays. But he and Lundqvist can each play the left side.
