SEA takes Eriksson in expansion and other 2021 predictions

Description
If it's too late to find a taker to dump Eriksson onto this season, then VAN should strike up a deal with Seattle for them to take Loui in expansion. The Kraken's other selection options off the Canucks roster aren't that amazing. The best would probably be Holtby but there will be plenty of other solid goalie options for them to add. So adding two 2021 2nd round picks should be enticing enough to do it (double the cost of the Marc Staal dump), despite 'helping out' a new division rival.

Other roster notes;
- Petey gets the 'Eichel' deal
- Hughes takes a 3 year bridge that ends the same year Myers' deal does. His following long-term deal will make him the highest paid Canuck.
- 1 year bridge for Demko to coincide with the end of Holtby's deal.
- Ferly tries to play during the 2020/21 season, but continues to have post-concussion setbacks. He "retires" in the 2021 offseason on LTIR.
- Pearson's strong two-way play and chemistry with Horvat earns him a 4 year extension.
- Brought Edler back on a 1 year deal to help mentor the kids and solidify the blueline until they're ready. Hopefully one of Joulevi, Rathbone, Rafferty or Woo develops into a 2nd pair Dman.
- Hoglander makes the team in 2020 on the 3rd line, but quickly develops chemistry with Petey and Miller after Ferland leaves the lineup. He sticks on that line for 2021.
- This team has a ton of cap space available in 2022, even after Boeser and Demko get their raises.

Although these lines are intriguing, I like the effort. Pretty good look.

No. At this point I predict that they'd protect Schmidt, Juolevi and Rafferty. Edler will be a UFA, Hughes and Rathbone exempt. Leaving Myers exposed, but Seattle won't want his contract.

How do you think Eriksson would like a season albeit abbreviated in the minors?

What if Seattle was enticed by some picks to take Myers?

That would be much better than taking Eriksson.

I disagree, Myers is definitely way overpaid for what he contributes, but he still does fill a role of need on the team. He was actually pretty good last year when paired with Hughes.

I think he'd probably be upset by it, but the reality is that the team saves a little more on the cap if he's sent down, and he really hasn't earned a roster spot on the big club based on this past season.

AAV too high or term too long? I'd be happy if they could keep him for less.

True, but more likely to walk away the last year of his deal. Two years in the minors would be tough.

Imo he’s a boarderline Top 6. Saw better players sign cheaper contracts this offseason (toffoli, smith, dadanov, etc.) so I think a 3 yr deal at around the same AAV he currently he has is fair. I wouldnt do 4 years and I wouldn’t do over $4 million

Yup he is overpaid. But he's also getting older and he's already just barely hanging on as effective player. His last two yrs of his contract are going to look about as ugly as Eriksson's does now I think. I really don't even think he is a 3 million dollar dman.
